UPDATE On the third day of searching, a team made up of members of the Cluj County Salvamont-Salvaspeo mountain rescue service, CST volunteers and a member of Salvamont Alba found Stelica at the edge of a forest a few kilometres from the village he had set out from. He spoke with us, was given warmer clothes, hot tea and something to eat. The joy was immense, and all of us felt that Christmas had come early this year. Radios and phones started ringing in every direction, and all the other teams that had been combing the hills between Cluj and Sălicea in search of him were told at once. Mountain rescuers, CST volunteers and gendarmes breathed a sigh of relief when the ambulance crew took him in and began giving him the care he badly needed. We cannot explain what strength kept Stelica alive through those three days and two nights in the middle of December, but we are glad it exists.
