Zlatna Mission, Alba County – 14 October 2017
On the evening of 13 Oct 2017, we received a request for support from the Salvamont Alba Public Service (mountain rescue). It concerned the search for a 13-year-old boy who had gone missing on Wednesday from the town of Zlatna. This morning, five CST members missed out on "breakfast in bed" and set off for Zlatna.
In the search mission led by IPJ Alba (the Alba County Police), Tibi with Yukan'na, Raul with Aka and Amir, Silvia with Arik, Călin with Dino and Oana with Check joined the police officers, Salvamont rescuers and local residents who were determined to find Emil.
After a 3-hour search, the mission leaders decided to stop the search in Zlatna, as the areas the boy was thought to have gone through had already been covered, and the general conclusion was that Emil had travelled further from the town.
The investigation continued along this lead, and a few hours later we happily learned that the boy had been found at a sheepfold more than 30 kilometres from Zlatna. So a story that could have ended badly had a great ending!
