🗓️Between 7 and 14 September, six CST volunteers, together with 8 dogs, answered our Austrian friends' invitation to take part in the "International Rescue-Dog Camp – training with friends." We spent 7 magical days in Rapšach, Czechia, home to the K9-4U Londonka Rescue Dog Training Center, a fantastic training base for rubble search dogs. Both we and the dogs worked hard to improve our performance at finding victims trapped under rubble.
In the evenings, we swapped stories with our Austrian friends, alongside whom we've been training at joint camps for 18 years! We were delighted to see them again, to have the chance to use this extraordinary training base, and to draw inspiration for continuing to build our own base.
After 7 days of intense training, Călin with Pit and Ivo, Oana with Veve and Brici, and Timea with Ash headed home. Our more eager colleagues, Oana with Pax, Ani with Gaia and Gyuri with Flash, stayed on for another week at Londonka to watch the IRO World Championship for Search and Rescue Dogs, an event held right on the grounds where we had been training. In the meantime, we've all made it home, but we've promised to return next year!
