A DAY ON WHICH LIFE WON!!!
At the request of the Police, the CST team took part in the search for a missing 19-year-old man, who had disappeared around lunchtime in the Tăuți area. Our volunteers — Călin with Ama, Oana with Jimmy and Brici, Adrian with Sia, together with Mira, Ani and Gyuri — joined the Local Police, Jandarmeria (Gendarmerie), ISU (Emergency Inspectorate) forces, Salvamont (mountain rescue), Medical International Rescue, Underdogs and CERT in a joint effort to find the missing person.
Using the scent from a piece of the victim's clothing, Ama (Orca Kmetty-Házi) led Călin and Mira through the forest and across the hills. After about 5 km, Ama stopped next to an abandoned car near Vlaha. Checking the car, our colleagues found the missing man sheltering inside. Relieved to find him alive, the volunteers radioed the rest of the search party. By then it was already night-time and -8°C. The young man was given a jacket, wrapped in a survival blanket, and our volunteers waited with him for the EMTs, who were already on their way.
