🎂On Sunday we had something dear to celebrate!
It wasn't a birthday — it was the celebration of lives spent in service to people.
We celebrated the retirement of our beloved Yukan'na, Dino and Max! Three dogs who devoted their entire lives to saving people! There were years upon years of training, missions, exams and exercises, and this trio never let us down! They searched for lost people through valleys and mountains, through rubble and avalanches! For some missions, they even sprouted wings and flew over our mountains, and even went to Turkey to help after the 2023 earthquake! Once again we remembered the hundreds of missions they took part in alongside their people, and it's hard to accept that, from now on, they'll stay home when we're called to search for someone.
Still, we promise to make sure they have all the fun they want, all the rest they deserve, and, above all, our gratitude for standing by us for so many years.
Even though they've received collars and medallions marking them as "CST Veterans," they will continue to be examples of devotion for us, having set standards that will be hard to match for those who follow!
