Last weekend, the Transylvania Search and Rescue Dogs Association organised a workshop for volunteer search-and-rescue dog teams to clarify and practise the newly implemented rules of the FCI & IRO examination regulations for SAR dogs. The event's lecturer was the highly regarded international IRO judge Mirka Nečak. Over three days, 25 volunteers from CST, Bucharest Search and Rescue Dogs (CSB) and ISU Timiș (Timiș Emergency Inspectorate) took part in both theoretical and practical sessions. 30 search and rescue dogs, together with their volunteers from Cluj, Alba, Timișoara and Bucharest, tried to get as close as possible to the requirements of the new examination regulations, across three disciplines: area search, rubble search and mantrailing. They were three very full days, with rain, fog, cold, and also some very welcome rays of sunshine — days we were happy to share with people and dogs who are so passionate about search and rescue with dogs. We want to thank Ms. Mirka Nečak for her energy and patience, the participants for their dedication, and, last but not least, our partners for this event: Studium Green, Uzina Mecanică Orăștie, Telepaws and Animalia Multiserv!
