Under the cooperation protocols between our organisation and the DSU (Department for Emergency Situations) and the Bihor Emergency Inspectorate (ISU BH) respectively, our volunteers took part in an exercise testing the response of the authorities, assisted by various NGOs, to a potential earthquake. Alongside ISU, SMURD (Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication), Jandarmeria (Gendarmerie) and Police staff, volunteers from various non-profit organisations working in drone search, social assistance and dog search also took part in the exercise. Grațian with Rocky, Oana with Dino, and Rareș with Max were tasked with finding victims trapped under rubble. We once again practised working alongside the professionals of ISU BH, who professionally coordinated the entire operation. Only by training together can we make sure that, when the need arises, we will be able to respond effectively, professionals and volunteers alike!
