In June, the Canine Camp - 1st edition took place in Timișoara, organised by ISU "Banat" Timiș (the Timiș County Emergency Inspectorate), under the aegis of IGSU (the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations). The Transylvania Search and Rescue Dogs Association answered the invitation, involving 6 volunteers together with 9 dogs, who were joined by 9 handler-dog units from ISU, 2 members of the Sibiu Canine Training Center, and 2 more dog teams from Clubul Câinilor Utilitari (the Working Dogs Club), Bucharest. During the camp, participants had the chance to exchange information and experience about training search and rescue dogs and to try out new training methods, in exercises carried out in both rubble and forest settings. Thank you to the organisers for the chance to "test out" cooperation between volunteers and ISU structures ahead of future rescue missions!
