As a new year begins that promises to be a busy one for CST, we would like to present the activity carried out by our organization in 2013.
Training Activities
• Regular training sessions (3 per week)
• Work on setting up the training ground, covering an area of 5,000 sqm, made available by Romania Hypermarché (Cluj-Napoca)
• Work on fitting out a disused building, made available to CST by S.C. Carbochim S.A.

• Search and rescue exercise, 31 July, training camp of the Romanian Red Cross Disaster Intervention Detachments - "Paul Constantin Țăranu", 5th edition, in partnership with the Red Cross
Missions and Exams
• Search mission, 06 June, Harghita Mountains – Harghita Băi (Mission coordinator: Salvamont Miercurea Ciuc). The CST team took part in the search for a man who had been missing for 3 days
• Search mission, 06 July, Săcueni - Bihor (Mission coordinator: Săcueni Town Police); the CST team took part in the search for a man from Cluj who had been missing for 5 days

• Search mission, 12-14 December, Sălicea – Cluj County (Mission coordinator: Serviciul Public Județean Salvamont-Salvaspeo Cluj). The CST team took part in the search for a man who had left a care center. The man was found alive after 3 days of searching by a team made up of Salvamont members and CST volunteers

• Participation in an International Test for search and rescue dogs, 31 May – 02 June – Piliscsaba, Hungary (Organized under the auspices of IRO - International Rescue Dog Organisation, with 68 dogs from 9 countries taking part). 3 CST volunteers took part with 3 dogs. One of our volunteers passed the RH E-FL Test, placing 1st in that specialty (an elementary-level test in the "area search" specialty)
• Participation in an International Test for search and rescue dogs, 23-25 August – Donovaly, Slovakia (Organized under the auspices of IRO - International Rescue Dog Organisation, with 80 dogs from 12 countries taking part). 3 CST volunteers took part with 3 dogs. Two of them passed the RH E-T Test, placing 2nd and 4th in that specialty (an elementary-level test in the "rubble/disaster search" specialty).
Social and Educational Activities
• „Hiperparada animalelor la Cora" (5th edition) – April 2013 (organized by CORA and CST)

– Presentation of canine training demonstrations, canine sports, parades of dog breeds and search and rescue activities, drawing an extremely large audience.
– Impact: Now in its 5th edition, the event's impact on the public grows year after year. In recent editions we have welcomed more than 12,000 visitors (according to data collected by Cora) over the two days of the event.
• „Cora te provoaca sa stii mai multe, sa fii mai bun!" ("CORA Challenges You to Know More, to Be Better!") – April 2013 (co-organized by CST)

– A week of contests between teams from grades 0-4 at schools in Cluj, in which more than 120 children experienced engaging activities (dog training, climbing, firefighting games and environmental activities). As part of this contest, children's participation in the „Work with the Search and Rescue Dogs" workshop, run by CST volunteers, involved children demonstrating their knowledge of rules of behavior around dogs. It was also an exercise in team spirit, organization and the ability to follow and respect the team leader's instructions.
• „Herbstfest" (the German Economy's Autumn Festival) - 5 October, Cluj-Napoca – a training demonstration and a special program for children.
• „Introductory Disc Dogging Seminar" Cluj-Napoca, 28-29 September, Instructor – Bruno Icobet (European champion) – Organized by CST.

• "CST GALA 2013" Cluj-Napoca, 09 December – an event presenting the organization's activity over the course of 2013.
